Our next Meeting is NHW 491's AGM and it will be on Monday September 18th, 2017

Every Year Neighbourhood Watch Aberfoyle Park & Happy Valley have their Annual General Meeting and this year’s meeting is on the 18th of September. Typically, this is the time where those on the Committee may choose to renominate or step down and where the individuals from the community nominate themselves for those Committee positions, which are vacant. Historically some members have announced their decision to step down at the meeting however, this year we are fortunate enough to know in advance that the ‘Newsletter Editor’ and ‘Treasurers’ position will be vacated which allows the community to rally and find some good candidates to allow themselves to be nominated or to self-nominate. The Committee meets formally six times a year at the bimonthly NHW Meetings held at the Aberfoyle Community Centre on the 3rd Monday at 7:30PM. I encourage all neighbours living in Aberfoyle Park and Happy Valley to consider volunteering for the Committee, which you will find to be very rewarding, and of great benefit to the community. If you would like to know, more contact Don Ogilvie, NHW491 Area Coordinator. T: 0416 282 596 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . I would be pleased to answer any of your questions.

Everyone is welcome and a light supper is available to those who attend - admission is free.

Some of our projects:

A project running now for 10 years is the stenciling of house numbers on the kerb-side.  This may assist emergency services and even that pizza deliverer in finding homes especially at night.  The numbering project was extended to rubbish, recycling and green waste bins to aid identification and discourage theft.

More recently and with the assistance and approval of our local Council, 'Remember 50' stickers were placed on waste bins in our area.  The stickers are a reminder to drivers that the speed in our area is 50 kph.

Who and where are we?

NHW491 is an active group operating in the Aberfoyle Park & Happy Valley area;  it represents some 2,900 homes and a Newsletter is delivered to each of these in the weeks leading up to every meeting which are held on the third Mondays of the odd month.  If you are a resident in the area you are most welcome to attend and contribute at the meetings.  Around 20 to 30 residents usually attend together with our Police Coordinator.
